My family and I just got home from a wonderful week down in old Key West Florida. I did a ton of research and ended up staying at the Blue Marlin. Not just because it was cheaper than most places to stay but that did have a lot to do with it. We all love to swim so a pool was a must. I was surprised to find a heated pool is something hard to find and a hotel with a parking lot is even more rare. Of course we love the beach and that was a big reason for going in the first place.

When we arrived we expected to find large rooms and were not disappointed. The rooms are very big and have been kept up to date nicely. The pool is also large for hotels in Key West. I checked out some others in the area that had small unheated pools and they looked like they were a little bigger than a hot tub. There’s also a nice covered area poolside which my husband liked for getting out the sun a little. The kids were happy staying there and swimming all day.

I was really happy to find the Blue Marlin. Everything from the cleanliness and size to the lowest rates for what you get, I would recommend it to anyone planning a vacation to Key West.

We just returned from our spring break vacation to Key West, Florida. Boy, did we have fun! We stayed at the Blue Marlin Inn. This inn was built in the 1960s and the outside of the hotel still resembles the hotels built during that time period. The inside, however, has been fully updated. The staff at the hotel is very friendly. The rooms were large and spotless. We loved the fact that the hotel is located near Duvall Street. We simply parked our car and left it there our whole stay. Everything was within easy walking distance. We enjoyed the free continental breakfast offered by the hotel. It was great to be able to eat in our rooms while getting ready for the day’s activities.

Our visit to Duvall Street was the perfect activity for this vacation. We enjoyed shopping in the quaint little souvenir shops. We were able to purchase several t-shirts of our vacation at low prices. We also enjoyed visiting all the pubs that are located on this street. As the sun went down, we really began to party at one of Hemmingway’s old hangouts. We were thrilled to learn about the Duvall crawl where the drunks stumble down the streets after partying all night. We also enjoyed our ride in the rickshaw. We loved taking it to the port to see all the large cruise ships. The port was fascinating to visit, but I am so glad that we stayed at the Blue Marlin instead. We also enjoy a ride in a pink taxi where occupants are encouraged to sing karaoke.
